Stamford will host Honey Harvest Fest, Chamber’s Diversity and Oktoberfest events

The First County Bank Foundation is accepting applications through October 31 for its annual FirstClass Grants for Teachers, a program created in 2016 designed exclusively for local public school K-5 teachers.

The program was created to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the First County Bank Foundation. Applications are available online at firstcountybank.com/community/grant-applications/.

Eligible grant recipients are kindergarten through fifth grade teachers in Stamford, Norwalk, Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Westport, Fairfield and Bridgeport.

“We are proud to support the efforts of our local teachers,” said Robert J. Granata, president of the First County Bank Foundation and CEO of First County Bank. “Every year we welcome grant requests for creative and exciting programs.”

Since the FirstClass Grants for Teachers are designed by the First County Bank Foundation to help teachers fund programs that promote creative learning in the classroom and beyond, special consideration will be given to applications that are creative, innovative and have lasting impact.

Beginning in November, grants will be awarded with funds to be used during the 2022-23 academic year. Requested grant amounts cannot exceed $1,000 and require approval by the teacher’s school principal.
